CAREERS AT WHOLE FAMILY HEALTH

About Us

We are a vibrant, family-run practice in the Nepean region of Western Sydney. We're passionate about supporting people with disabilities and their families to live their best lives! Our multidisciplinary team offers speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, feeding therapy, toileting therapy, counselling, and music therapy.

Some of the Reasons Therapists Choose Us

  • “I feel a great sense of fun here. There is always time for a laugh and chat, which helps to get through the day.”
  • “There is a collaborative rather than top-down culture – everyone feels like they are on the same team.”
  • “Everyone helps each other out, especially if they are having a hard time with a tricky client. People understand each other.”
  • “Having an open-plan office space facilitates a lot of open conversations.”
  • “Our team is great, everyone is approachable and willing to help. Eg. Helen is always helping with NDIS questions, OT Sarah is always available to lend an ear and help with any tricky clients, despite how busy she is.”
  • “I was happy to travel over an hour for 3 years to get here because of the team and clients.”
  • "I came for 6 months and stayed for 2 years!"
  • “The culture is one of working hard when it is time to and mixed in with team walks, Aldi trips, chats about the weekend, game days and yes, cake. Everyone is treated like a person and not just an employee or fellow staff member. There is a care factor about everyone for everyone.”
  • “I feel supported and appreciated by Helen and the whole team.”
  • “My ideas are listened to and valued.”
  • “I’m not just another cog in the money-making machine.”
  • “Friendly and approachable nature of all in the team including those in management positions. This provides me with confidence to seek assistance from team leaders and managers.”
  • “Work-life balance is something a lot of places advertise, but WFH actually delivers on this.”
  • “Accommodating to me while I have young kids, especially when they are sick all the time.”

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS

The Role

  • We are looking for Occupational Therapists of ALL experience levels to join our team – both new graduates and experienced clinicians are welcome!
  • Although we have existing paediatric caseloads, we're called "Whole Family Health" for a reason - if you have a particular condition, age group or scope you enjoy working with or are interested in learning about, please talk to us! Examples include home modifications or late diagnosed autism, but we're interested in expanding our range of services to help ALL members of the family.
  • A range of formal and informal assessment tools are available for use (as is training in using them).
  • Sessions can be individual, or joint with another allied health professional, in the clinic, via telehealth, or in the community.

Get in Touch!

Please apply through the form at the top of this page. If you’d prefer to have a confidential chat about the role first, please call us or email theteam@wholefamilyhealth.com.au.

SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS

The Role

  • We are looking for Speech Pathologists of ALL experience levels to join our team – both new graduates and experienced clinicians welcome!
  • We have existing paediatric caseloads available, or are very open to expanding the age range of family members we help.
  • Sessions can be individual, or joint with another allied health professional.
  • See clients in the clinic, via telehealth or in the community, as best meets their needs.

Are you a New Graduate?

We have a comprehensive, structured new graduate program to kick-start your career! In addition to the above benefits, as a new grad you will also:

  • Gradually build to a full caseload, paced according to your needs – no overwhelming KPIs or deadlines. Participate in shadow sessions with any existing clients before they transition to you.
  • Receive individualised support from your team leader (a senior therapist) as required, including one-to-one supervision.
  • Weekly shadowing of an experienced therapist’s session, so you can learn how they progress therapy long-term.
  • Receive training in our assessment procedures so you are confident with application and interpretation before independently conducting them.
  • Structured learning goals based on our established list of core competencies, so that you have the skills needed to work with a varied caseload.
  • Any other additional support you would find helpful, we will always do our best to make happen!
  • Many of our new graduates stay with us for 3-5 years!

PSYCHOLOGIST

PSYCHOLOGIST

This position is for a psychologist with general registration from AHPRA, or endorsement as a clinical or educational and developmental psychologist. Please note, the position is not suitable for provisionally registered psychologists. For appropriately registered psychologists, though, working at Whole Family Health is an opportunity to be involved in the assessment and development of children with a variety of developmental conditions. Many of the children who attend Whole Family Health are NDIS participants, while some need assistance with diagnosis and application for the NDIS. Whole Family Health's friendly team of occupational, speech, physio and music therapists are on hand to collaborate with interdisciplinary professional development and on individual cases as part of our weekly "shared care" meetings.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please email theteam@wholefamilyhealth.com.au or call (02) 9833 3363 and ask to speak to Dr Helen Nicholson regarding the Psychologist role. Alternatively, you can submit this form.

  • Flexibility & Autonomy: Full-time and part-time hours available. We value a work-life balance; set a schedule that suit YOU! Some of our team does a 4-day week in clinic, some do a half-day Monday, and some work from home when writing assessment reports.
  • Manageable Workloads: No overwhelming KPIs; we work with you to determine a sustainable caseload aligned with your capacity and experience. Reset with at least 15 minutes between EVERY session for notes and prep, as well as dedicated time for session planning each week.
  • Interest-Based Caseloads: We encourage all our therapists to indicate on our waitlist any clients that they would particularly love to work with! Whether it be a particular age range, diagnoses, or desire for variety, build a case-range that interests you. We also love supporting therapists to explore new areas of interest, and keenly build these into our services.
  • Comfortable Staff Amenities: Including free parking, a kitchenette and staff-only bathroom.
  • Community Feel: Enjoy team activities run by our Social Squad, like our monthly 'Fun Friday.’ Know that your voice is always valued and heard; here, you're not just an employee, you're family.
  • Pets Welcome: Bring your pet to work – either for enjoyment or, if suitable, integrate them into animal-assisted therapy sessions!
  • Compensation and Time Off: A competitive salary, which includes super, four weeks' annual leave, generous PD budget and paid study leave.
